Don't Shutdown your Windows PC and Laptop
What if I tell you that you'll be shutting down your pc and laptops in the wrong way.
Let's Discuss why I a saying that,
When you shut down your windows pc and laptop that are higher than windows 8, there is a feature of 'Fast Startup' due to this when you shut down your system your windows is off but the kernel is still running or in sleep mode.
What is Kernel?
The kernel is the core part of the OS.
In simple words, Kernel is used to make communication possible between hardware and software.
Kernel in Previous Windows
In Previous Windows like windows 7 when you shut down your pc or laptop kernel is being killed by windows.
Kernel in sleep mode enables fast startup?
Yes, this is true, but if you have less RAM or you are facing lagging issues in your system then you must try not to shut down your system in the usual way
How to shut down your system?
There are three ways to do this,
- Press Windows, go to Shutdown Option before clicking shutdown holds the shift key, this kills the kernel.
- Now, the Second method is doing Restarting, Restarting causes the killing of the kernel.
- The third method is the Permanent Solution of this,
First Press Windows + R, this opens Run Box
The second type "powercfg. cpl" in the Run box and press ok, this opens the power option
Third click on, "Choose what the power option does"
Fourth click on, "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
Now the final step unticks, "Turn on fast startup (recommended)", and click on save changes. That's all.
Which Method do I prefer:
I prefer the first method, where you have to hold the Shift key before shutting down because it enables me to choose according to my situation whether I want a fast startup or not.
