IAF test-fires enhanced version of Brahmos from SU-30 MKI, Supersonic Missile BRAHMOS Destroy Target successfully

Indian Airforce conducts a successful test of an enhanced version of Brahmos missile From SU-30 MKI in the Bay of Bengal

This is the first time  the enhanced  version of BRAHMOS supersonic missile is test-fired from SUKHOI MKI

IAF Confirmed that the BRAHMOS missile achieved a direct hit on the designated target in the Bay of Bengal

An enhanced version of Brahmos can precisely hit a target 350 km away, 60 km more than its predecessor

Defense Ministry Statement: This will allow IAF a strategic reach & allow it to dominate future battlefields


DRDO

Besides IAF The Navy, DRDO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) & Brahmos Aerospace Pvt Ltd were also involved in test firing

In April too, IAF successfully test-fired a Brahmos Missile from a SukhoiSukhoi Fighter jet on the eastern seaboard

BRAHMOS is one of the INDIA’S most lethal weapon systems, Currently being used by the Army, IAF, and Navy  in different variants

An underwater BRAHMOS is being developed to equip the Indian submarines

The Brahmos, Land, ship, and Air attack versions are already in service

A hypersonic version of Brahmos is currently under development to boost aerial strike capability

Brahmos Hypersonic version is expected to be ready for testing by 2024
